CBR SoCal cup Crit #6

Sunday I raced at the CBR SoCal cup crit #6. It was at the Carson course. I arrived early and checked in with plenty of time to spare. I rode several laps on the course to warm up.
My category 5 race began at 7 am and lasted 30 minutes. The pace was moderate for the first two thirds. As usual, nobody wanted to pull hard or work together to push the pace faster. The slight incline between turn 3 and 4 dropped several of the weak riders. I wished I had several teammates to work the front together and hammer the pace. With about 3 laps to go, I found myself in a 10-15 second break with about 4 other riders. Two of them bonked at 1 lap to go and we were caught by about 8 more riders. I pulled hard through turn 3 and 4 and then two other riders passed me to take their pull. About 30 feet after completing our turn at turn 4 the sprint began. I put out a good effort and came across 5th. It was a fun race and I was pleased with my results.
